“Gender” is originally a linguistic construct. Romance languages have male and female gendered nouns, adjectives, and articles. German has male and female articles.

“Sex” is a biological term; mammals and most other species have males and females for reproduction. But Puritanical squeamishness made people reluctant to say “sex,” so the more neutral-sounding word “gender” became a synonym for “sex” in the biologic sense.

More recently, and strangely, “gender” and “sex” have taken on DIFFERENT meanings in the biologic sense: One is born with one of two sexes, but can simply declare oneself as having a different “gender.”

I refuse to play this nonsensical game. To me, “gender” is for language, and “sex” designates how one was anatomically designed for reproduction, and cannot be changed. I wish that society had stood firm against this phenomenon.

Hello Northumberland! Glad to see You today. Another fine roundup.

That's some fire at Heathrow. Sorry to hear of the disruptions.

But I'm glad to see the Sullivan report. That's good news. That about the Surrey police is just typical.

Kaja Kallas has it right. I hope everyone realizes this.

I'm sorry to see that Trump's moves in Ukraine has had such a bad effect on European view of U.S. arms.

It's typical that Russia would use migrants as a weapon.

You must be proud of Prince William.

Those were interesting stories about the Battle of Britain heroes, especially the Polish ones.

Congratulations on getting the book done! That's great.

And Paddy looks great as well.

TY, as always, Michelle. Much appreciated.
