Hello Northumberland! Good to see You again this very fine Friday morning.

The Mandelson affair won't go away. Sir Keir's time may be short. But will the replacement be worse?

That Shriner sure was shameful. Seems like Hermer and the cronyism is too. I'm glad to see he's been reported to the barrister's watchdog BSB and the House of Lords' standards commissioner.

I'm glad to see the work of Sharron Davies and Tracy Edwards. They're great.

The rape conviction is too little too late, IMV.

Queen Elizabeth II was great too. Kemi's video was also.

I'm glad You got to the Rest is History lecture with Your daughter and Powerscourt and the Lord Mayor's Lounge.

Paddy looks great, as always. Wishing You great luck in the writing. And, as always, TY Michelle. Great post.

SO brilliant to see you again as well JT.

The Rest is History lecture was so much fun in many ways. You could tell that Sandbrook and Holland were academics and well used to giving lectures. My daughter said that it sold out within minutes which shows how popular the RiH is in Ireland. The demographic sitting near us was interesting as it was mostly men in their late 20s and early 30s. It shows that people are hungry for this sort of narrative history. BOth Sandbrook and Holland were dropped by the BBC because they were supposed to be passe.

The Shriner episode was so shameful. It is just astonishing that Starmer appointed someone who was neck deep in it. It is good that Nick Timothy and Farage are trying to do something about it.

Starmer is supposed to be 'dead man walking' because of his remarks on Wednesday which directly contradicted what Robbins said re the pressure the FO was put under.

And because I thought you might enjoy this Matt cartoon -- two women talking while a little boy plays. 'He loves his toy soldiers. He likes accusing them of human rights offences.' https://x.com/stephenpollard/status/2047725868303220793/photo/1

And a major charity in the UK Scope decided to drop a choir who were supposed to sing on their behalf at the London Marathon because they didn't like the founder's gender critical views. They are trying the 'Bananarama defence' -- it is not your views but how you express them which doesn't hold any water. Their EDI policy is illegal and tells people that that any expression of religious or philosophical belief must be in line with the charity's values, plus that gender reassignment is a process.

The woman in question has consulted lawyers including Naomi Cunningham I believe. https://x.com/RosieKayK2CO/status/2047813981809623297

The Muslim religion emphasizes the importance of hospitality and the obligations it places on guests as well as hosts.....

Sure before they cut off your head. Or rape you. Let's stop lying about Islam, shall we?

One can state their ideals whilst being aware of the practices.

The point is hospitality is not a one way street. Muslims are aware of this.

Too often, people are excused with a discussion about culture and how in their culture... It always brings to mind the British army officer who set up the gallows by funeral pyre to stop suttee, saying you may do that in your culture, but in my culture we hang people who throw living widows onto bonfires.

It is like a social worker said to me about my father in law -- it is his lifestyle choice and I said well it is my lifestyle choice not to wait on him hand and foot. She started laughing but understood my point.

Most of the so-called "ideals" apply only to the bloodthirsty fools that follow that faith of conquest and subjugation. It has been rotted from its very beginning - the ravings of a desert pedophile.
