Nicely done. What do these fools think would have happened had the Japanese won in Burma and then India. Are they ignorant of the Rape of Nanking? Churchill is the greatest human of the 20th Century.. Greater even than Einstein, as Einstein would have been erased under the Nazis. No Churchill and Britain seeks a separate peace under Halifax. And then the US stand alone. I have no patience for these leftist liars and freaks. They need to be confronted, ridiculed, shamed and minimized.
I could add the Bhutan Death March as another example of Japanese Imperial barbarity.
There are reasons why Churchill sends Halifax to the US after Lord Lothian died in harness in Nov 1940. Lothian is often overlooked but he played an absolute blinder in changing US opinion. He really encourages things like Bundles for Britain.
I have little time for Henry Ford or Charles Lindberg btw.
The story of the rescue was amazing. Most of all because the American Army they knew when they were captured when Bataan and Corregidor fell in 1942 had been transformed radically by the time of the rescue of the POWs.
I wonder if these fools ever think about what life in India would have been like under Japanese, or a joint Japanese-German occupation. Churchill literally saved the world from a darkness that would have been unspeakably evil. Just think of how the Nazis treated white skinned Slavs. What would they have done to the darker-hued races? I just have no time for these moral midgets.
And I am happy to say that I am not the only person outraged by this slur against Churchill, this attempt to undermine his reputation and therefore Western democracy.
Lord Andrew Roberts has now written to the National Portrait Gallery along with 50 other peers (including Baroness Nicholson) demanding the removal of installation on the grounds that it is lying.
Yes but it is the people who commissioned the piece who need calling out. They will have known about Cammock's vision and tacitly (if not overtly) approved.
The first article also claims that the artist was banned from the Biennale, a claim which I can't verify and which seems highly dubious at first glance. Can we trust the Telegraph's claims?
The article cited is from 2010 and is a review of a book by Madhusree Mukerjee whose claims are dubious but the review takes at face value (albeit with the word 'claims' inserted a number of times).
Excellent, thank you. What about the Telegraph's claim that the artist was banned from the Biennale? It could only be in an alternate universe that a modern art exhibition to ban an anti-Semite, couldn't it?
I would assume that part is accurate as why say it otherwise. There seems to have been frequent flare ups and it depends on when it happened (say 2024 as opposed to huge 2026 banning). But I can't quickly put my hands on the reference.

Thank you for understanding why I am so cross.

Bhutan or Bataan?
You are right Bataan. It is what you think you know and don't bother checking.... The whole Ghost Soldiers thing. Absolutely shocking.

I totally agree.

Yes they do but by whom? None on the left obviously. Maybe Mr Carlson?

Fascinating! Thank you, Michelle xx
TY for the lesson in history, Michelle. Cammock is horrible.
Yes but it is the people who commissioned the piece who need calling out. They will have known about Cammock's vision and tacitly (if not overtly) approved.
True. TY again.
Excellent essay. Thank you!
Excellent rant. Is there a chance that a more Western government (than Labour) would be able to impose a new will onto the Gallery's leadership?
It is the problem with Institutional capture. They just see the world in a certain way.
And do read this article which gives an excellent background on the subject. https://historyreclaimed.co.uk/churchill-and-the-bengal-famine/
I am sincerely puzzled, as the first Telegraph article cited references a second Telegraph article which tacitly accepts the claim about Churchill: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/7991820/Winston-Churchill-blamed-for-1m-deaths-in-India-famine.html

This article from History Reclaimed is also good at debunking the theory and explaining why Canada would not send grain ships to the Med via the Bay of Bengal for example. https://historyreclaimed.co.uk/churchill-and-the-bengal-famine/
