More than likely.

Today he decided to cover himself with spaniel glitter on our morning walk. It took me ten minutes to comb out. I will be glad when spaniel glitter season is over. Of course then we get mud season...

i loved ameila bedelia as a child, too. she made cream puffs in one book and i'd never had cream puffs before so my mom and i made them, together. :)

thank you, as always, for the weekly round-up!

you know...celia has just implemented a "buy me a diet soda" on her jotting with purple page which is an excellent way for readers to support her efforts and endeavors and for her to not have to make her substack a true subscription model.

maybe we can buy you some bee matches? or a cup of tea?? or treats for paddy???

Tell you what -- buy my latest book if you like. My publishers would like that.

I'd forgotten about the cream puffs! Lemon meringue pie became my brother's fave because of the book.

I actually have a v good recipe now -- a riff on the River Cafe's -- it takes about 18 eggs, and quite a bit of butter but the pie is v good.

will do!

do you have a preference where i purchase from (barnes & noble vs amazon...or?)?

to be honest, i never got into lemon meringue pie because i prefer my meringue hard and crunchy. but as i've gotten older, lemon bars and key lime pie and the like have made friends with my taste buds. if there are 18 eggs and quite a bit of butter, i bet it is delicious!

No preference. I get paid when the book is new, but not if it is bought used.

Yes the meringue on lemon meringue is an Italian type meringue rather than the hard meringue which is delicious filled with cream and fresh fruit.

Lemon bars are great as well as is key lime -- although key limes are hard to get in the UK. I do like to bake (and eat) but try to do it from scratch rather than going store bought.

It is basically doing a lemon curd or lemon lime curd. I don't think you get as many curds in the US (basically egg yolk, sugar and butter and spread like jam on toast)

Hello Northumberland! Good to see Ya again this Friday.

And TY, of course, for Your article. I agree the article about poor white boys was very good. And the article about kids not reading was brilliant, just like You said. That's great You pledged the books. TY for the article link to the Critic. Nice catch.

And TY for the pictures of Paddy and the bees. Interesting. I'm glad You will be getting honey. TYTY, again and again, Michelle.

I was going quickly!!!

Glad you loved Amelia Bedelia as well. My daughter says that Paddy is a v Amelia Bedelia sort of dog -- means well, but gets the wrong end of the stick at times.

Living in interesting times is both a curse and a blessing. It is good that they didn’t overlook certain Labour councillor’s incendiary remarks and have remanded him in custody.
