And because I happened to listen to the World at One and the Al-Fayed case is heating up. Apparently the former owner of Harrods (now deceased) serially abused women, including underaged women and it was covered up. The BBC have done a documentary on the subject and a podcast. They held a press conference. Gloria Allred is involved for some of the victims. Harrods has apologised, saying that they were now a different organization and that there was a compensation scheme available for the victims.
I now identify as an eagle. My pronouns are rip and tear. Since I am enrolled native American, Ie a real bona fide legalized Indian irregardless of the color of my skin, to disprespect my pronouns is to disrespect the long and tragic history of my people. so you would be considered racist, speciest and since I am woman, sexist, if you dare to do so. Oh yeah you would be a disgusting colonizer too.
And did you see that Israel have eliminated Ibrahim Aqil, the mastermind of the 198 US Embassy bombing where 63 Americans died for 40 years to the day apparently of the bombing? The AFP have confirmed. https://x.com/Osint613/status/1837131146234069275
I’m looking forward to reading it to my grandson in a few years although he is an avid Harry Potter fan so not sure if it will be well received. ‘Watership Down’ is another but he’s a little young yet only six. I remember ‘Secret Garden’ being read to us by our teacher in junior school - I read it to my boys when they were little; it will be nice to revisit it with him.
Do you think this rapid unraveling of Labour will result in serious political changes the next time voters have an option? And is there actually a political party there that will take the concerns of the public into consideration? As an only casually observing American, it seems to me that the British government has been pursuing the same disastrous course for a decade or more, despite the changes in who is in charge.
They all say that they take the average voters' concerns into consideration, but rarely do.
If there is a change, it will depend on what the Conservatives do and if they get anyone sensible in. Jenrick is a generic politician. I think Tugendhat or Cleverley would be fine but not exciting. Badenoch could be excellent which means she will probably be torpedoed before it goes to the members.
The Lib Dems are a joke. The president through gritted teeth admitted that the only reasons LibDem for Women were allowed a stall at the conference was because they could not lawfully prevent it. The Lib Dems took a lot of money from a Big Pharma company...
I think Labour are hoping to get the unpopular stuff through now and then everyone will go -- wow, aren't they doing great? I fully expect Lammy to be reshuffled soon. He wrote a disastrous blog about Armenia the other day. The FO has to put out something saying -- actually no, our policy has not changed towards Armenia and Azerbaijan -- it has to do with the ethnic cleansing Azerbaijan have done in recent times. Lammy seemed to applaud it. <eyeroll>

Horrific is right.
Totally disgusting at what he was able to get away with.
Hello Northumberland! Good to see Ya. Makes Friday's extra special.
Haha! That's a good one. "Coming apart at the seams." You're lucky over there that Your budget deficits are measured in the billions.
I, too, am incredulous at the idea of "species dysphoria." Kids are just plain sick, too many of them.
Congrats on getting the contract signed! And for success with the apple juice. Paddy looks good, as always.
And, as always, thank You Michelle.
We are a much smaller country than the US.
Sometimes children just should be told -- no rather than being pandered to.
I was pleased to get the contract signed and to figure out how to do the apple juice (but it was hard work.

Very good!

Hip Hurrah!
Reuters are now reporting 2 top leaders of Hezbollah are eliminated. We can only hope for more.
Better add a disclaimer that this is a joke in case anyone thinks I am serious about this crap!
It made me giggle!
Oh we have that in common Michelle, ‘Secret Garden’ was my favourite book as a child.
Such a great book. I loved it. Part of the reason I love gadening.

It is a classic. Fingers crossed.

More than a decade...
