As Mikalina said, another great roundup of articles, Michelle. You know I always perk my ears up when You mention Kemi. That David Tennant is a real piece of work.
I know you do and she has been a stand out star of this election cycle.
ANd I have just discovered that blacklisting is illegal in the UK. Some of the agencies and publishing houses may be at risk because of the threats to create a blacklist by some of their employees. This is the regulation. It is going to be interesting to see how this plays out. https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2010/493/regulation/3/made is the appropriate regulation.
Biden came off horribly. Actually frightening. If he were working in a store you wouldn’t want him to wait on you. That’s how bad. Trump repeated a lot of the same points and went off when he was supposed to be answering questions. But comparing the two of them Trump looked miles better. Also check Twitter because Biden said he is endorsed by the Boarder agents and the Boarder Agent Union said they never have and never will endorse him.
Biden should have been taken out of this race over a year ago.
If they had let RFK JR debate he would have wiped the floor with both of them.
Thanks for the links to UK publications. Interesting to get the takes there on the debate here. I have not watched a presidential "debate" since Bush v Gore. They are quite cringe inducing and I need sleep more than being creeped out by folks lacking in genuine stature, statesmanship, leadership ability.
That said, clips the next day were unavoidable. Most of all, I think the US media shat their pants over the past years covering for Biden's obvious incapacity. Why they would expect to be credible - other than to sycophants - is beyond my understanding.
I thought the best day after line was from Boomer Esiason, a retired NFL Quarterback, now a radio/tv sports talkshow host. He Tweeted "Are we going to be invaded tomorrow?" Put the serious risk we face with a feeble and obviously not running the show President succinctly.
JKR is smart and very impressive. Stands tall. You are lucky to have such a brave public figure. Same with Badenoch. She is ballsy. If she gets run out of government there, please send her our way. She can be Secretary of Whatever agency she wants. We need genuine and articulate folks like her.
Yes the clips were unavoidable which means the Biden strategy of 'nothing to see here, folks' is somewhat bizarre.
Badenoch (if she wants it) may be the next Tory leader. It all depends on whether she wants to keep her powder dry given the shellacking the Tories are expected to take... She is certainly proving that she is capable and that she understands business (besides women & equality, her other briefs are for international trade and business). The UK is lucky to have her.
On the Labour side, Rachel Reeves seems sensible and one or two others but mainly they have a problem with the far Left (see Dawn Butler or Diane Abbott for example).
The French election now goes to the 2nd round and the center parties are doing deals as it has become everyone against le Pen and Le Toy Boy. However there is no doubt in my mind that the French electorate decided to give Macron a decided slap.
I have read the Telegraph article -- it sounds like some academic wishes to make a name for themself by going after a scheme which actually does good in poor communities. It is precisely the sort of scheme which is designed to lift literacy. The academic appears to want to keep the status quo. You do get these obscure academics trying to make a name by going after something beloved.
The books will be chosen by a committee of experts.
The Imagination Library also runs in poor areas in the UK.

I hope the revisions go well this week.

:Dolly Parton scheme giving children free books attacked as ‘white saviourism’"
Are you able to provide an archive version of this article? Seems like serious madness.

Boarder agents? Does the writer mean border agents?
