And good for Sir Geoffrey Vos -- the Court of Appeal has ruled that the three family judges involved in the Sharif case can be named and that the order preventing their naming was wrong and the judge in question had no jurisdiction to do so. Open justice and freedom of the press. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01/24/three-sara-sharif-judges-can-be-named/
There are many who have contributed to this and still continue to contribute, despite the hard evidence that the medicalization of children with gender discomfort was based on v dubious research.
Thus far we are fine. Other places have lost power. It is more concentrated on the Southwest and Ireland thus far. A tornado in Cornwall.
Irish Water has lost power to several plants which will hopefully be restored soon or otherwise things could become interesting over there.
The interesting question which has not been answered is who are the Southport killers' parents (why was asylum given to them and what did they do in Rwanda during the 1990s)and why didn't the build up of the arsenal of weapons have them calling the police? No idea if it ever will be btw.
"Unity Mitford’s secret diary has been supposedly unearthed. Among other things it reveals her to be every bit as disgustingly anti-Semitic as she was reputed to be."
In other news, water is wet. Someone(s) seemed to work very hard, for a very long time, to make the Mitford sister a thing. It always seemed so forced.
I can be v American and not understand obsession with the Mitford sisters. I suspect Diana was very bit as vile as her sister.
The other thing is that her diary reveals her to be an utter waste of space airhead as well. No great intellectual insight. I suspect it was Nancy and Jessica who got the brains.
So Zoe Law was basically unknown as a photographer. Fine. Who are Noel Gallagher, daisy lowe or whomever Matt Smith( horrible look for him btw) was in front of.
I go to a lot of art exhibits (and highly encourage others to do the same) and can report back that the quality and point-of-views vary greatly. Like really, really bigly. But you always learn something, and your eye gets educated. It helps to go with someone else and discuss it verbally afterward - "Well, that was quite the pile of dross, wasn't it?" "Yes, but exactly how high was the pile and was it more or less dross than the exhibit we saw last week?"
I looked Zoe Law up; she seems to understand lighting and exposure, her compositions lean professional/editorial, but Annie Leibovitz isn't loosing any sleep. Some gallery space in exchange for £40m seems a fair trade.
I don't think so. 1703 also had huge amounts of rain. Most of the bridges on the Tyne were swept away in that one. One baby survived -- found floating on the Tyne.
With Eowyn, it is mainly the wind. Only one person is dead. Many without power. Ireland normally does not get this strong of wind. Britain does occasionally.
And this is the actual study which showed the 50 fold increase. It makes for interesting reading. https://adc.bmj.com/content/early/2025/01/19/archdischild-2024-327992
Yes, very interesting. TY Michelle.

Harry. Has a grown man been more of a child.
Appears to be. He is basically not very relevant and the circus has moved on.
To Some of Us, he never was relevant. \
Yes but his photo once sold newspapers and magazines. It doesn't so much now.
Now THAT is a cogent analysis!
The circle of hell for the gender stupids needs to be expanded -- it's not just the Mengele wannabees.

Hello Northumberland! Good to see You. Another fine roundup.
I hope You all survive the storm Eowyn.
But the next stories: I could only skim them. I hope the Southport killer gets what he has coming to him.
That was an interesting story about Trump and the Davos crowd. And the two on Unity Mitford.
The Kathleen Stock article was great. She always is.
I wish You and Paddy good luck. You on Your revisions, and him on getting past Eowyn.
And, as always, want to TY kindly, Michelle.

It's a sad day on both sides of the sainted Pond that actual justice is dependent upon the perp's fellow prisoners.
Putting him behind bars, basically in an oubliette is justice. He needs to suffer for the rest of his existence...
And may that existence be painful and short.

Great round up as always, Michelle. Stay safe.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Noel Gallagher -- frontman for the British pop band Oasis
Daisy Lowe -- a model and influencer type
Other than Gallagher they are not really well known.

Is Eowyn thought to be worse than the Great Storm of 1703?
