And as trailed the ECB have now decided that it is all ovaries for women's cricket (immediate effect). I suspect they spoke with their insurers who said -- they would not be covered if they continued to flout the law.

Your copy editor tale reminds me of an anecdote about Georgette Heyer. Apparently some overzealous copy editor wanted to get in an expert to check over Heyer's work. Editor had to point out that Heyer WAS the expert.

The Isle of Mull; gateway to the Isle of Iona, which I find to be the second most spiritual place on earth, exceeded only by the Gettysburg Battlefield (particularly at night).

Gettysburg -- particularly at the Devil's Den surely has ghosts.

There are just certain places with imprints.

Hello Northumberland! Good to see You again.

You're right. That was a great article by Oliver Brown on women's sports. And he's right: It never should have taken all the years of struggle. I'm glad to hear that Barclay's is coming around. I'll read the Executive Summary of the HHS report.

I hope the tree destroyers get what's coming to them.

SMH at Your copy editor. I look forward to Vikings Royal Marriage Bargain. And to the next chapter in Your writing life.

Paddy looks great, as always, keeping the rabbits at bay.

And, as always, TY Michelle. Appreciate You.

Lovely to see you as well JT

I had a good discussion with my editor this morning. I am going to be returning to the Regency time period. It is all very exciting. She loves my Vikings, but we both agreed that it was a time for a change.

I think it is well past time for women's sports to be female only. Also if people want to do mixed sex groups, it has to be clearly spelt out. Not single sex and those with the special handshake or in the know sort of thing. One must be fair to all concerned.

Thank you. It is going to be good to get back to that time period. Lots of froth and wit. Escapism which is something I need.

Not sure if you have seen or posted this. A report, a so-called "umbrella report" summarizing lots of other reports by US HHS. On Gender Dysphoria. It has not gotten much press attention here -eityher because the press is too focused on illegals here being deported or be4cause this is now Trump's HHS. It is about as neutral as possible, from a p political perspective. But it is at least a start.

Yes I have. I put out a note on it. I thought I'd mentioned it in this week's missive. It goes further than Cass and details the harms. It means the NHS can not really devise an ethical study re PB. The parachute example is given. They are ignoring it because it doesn't suit the narrative.

It is a start.

The real thing which will end this is the insurers deciding the risk is far too great and refusing insurance.

Over here, loads of institutions are claiming that they can wait until the EHRC issues statutory guidance. They are ignoring that the Supreme Court has clarified the law and any guidance (even if statutory) which runs counter to that law is illegal. There will be some huge fines. Saying that you are waiting for clarification is not a defence. There are reasons why the ECB, the FA, netball and now 8 ball pool have altered their stances and it was not out of the goodness of their hearts.
