The family judge in the Sara Sharif case has now been named -- Allison Raeside who had a year previously been accused of serious failings in her conduct of a case.
OMG. This was crazy. Apparently there is little to no justice in the English criminal justice system. And just a fractional amount of accountability, which I guess naming the judge is kind of. Is she still allowed to judge?
The father murdered four women but always got off because he was able to blame the women for their murders?
I have no idea if Raeside has retired or not. The right call would have been to removed the child from both her parents but there is huge policy pressure not to do that.
She also abided by the social worker's report which said that it was safe. The social worker should not have been assessing such a complex case.
It seems in GB, you can go to jail for criticizing Islam but not go to jail for beating a child with a cricket bat.
I used to be a staunch anglophile, but all this nonsense, such as gang rapes and the cover-ups, and now the brutalization and murder of a small child, is making me have second thoughts.
It almost makes me think the British justice system is misogynistic. (gang rapes and no protection of a lttle girl from a brutal father.)
I am glad to finally see some naming-and-shaming. I think that is the only real accountability we can hope for, but it should go down the line to the social worker who said everything was fine. Turn on all the lights, I say. Citizen journalists like you, Michelle, are going to be the saviors.
I suspect your questioning why the establishing of a committee to organize the celebration of the 250th anniversary of our independence wasn’t done ‘til now is rhetorical.
If not, I’ll go out on a limb to answer that it’s because the Biden administration, and Obama previously, did not believe in American exceptionalism. In fact, the opposite: They sought by every means to undermine that belief, which they associated with white supremacy, the patriarchy, slavery, merit-based achievement over equality of outcome, racism, toxic masculinity, capitalism, the Judeo-Christian ethic and morality, etc.
In other words, their belief, in concert with a huge chunk of their voting base, was that nothing about America’s founding was worth celebrating. Ironic, that, because Thomas Jefferson used to be a Democratic Party hero. If Harris (whose parents are Jamaican and East Indian) had been elected, July 4, 2026 would’ve been little more than an ordinary holiday. Again, ironically, because if her campaign had touted a grandiose plan to celebrate this monumental anniversary, she might well have attracted enough “normie” votes to be elected.
It was but I am pleased to see we are on the same page. I genuinely did not know but suspected.
I do hope that there will now be a grand and great celebration. One of the biggest achievements for America has been the enfranchisement (the ability to participate in the governance) for all its adult citizens (of sound mind) rather than forcing some sort of variation of the Test Act. In many countries, a test act which results in several tiers of citizens is the norm (think China a one party state). Cos-play of the US (or indeed the West) as the worst system of governance doesn't stand up to even cursory examination.
But the thing is, the DEI establishment has adopted a Test Act in many U.S. institutions. A conservative or straight white male wanting to be hired by a university can forget it. Same thing with hoping to get an application past many corporate or public HR departments.
I ran across the lawsuit last night. I was thinking that Trump's comments about DEI being involved were just his usual verbal nonsense, but if the allegations in that lawsuit are true (apparently it will come to court this summer), it raises HUGE questions about the quality of a workforce that is already struggling with understaffing and overscheduling.
It is the quality of the workforce and also work practices were undertaken to support people from 'diverse' backgrounds. For example, allowing abnormal shifts patterns if an employee asked it because of their lifestyle choices. I know the whole idea of flexible working hours was one to support employees, but safety should come first. Was safety compromised in this situation because of a DEI directive? It is something they will have to look at.
Our Michelle writes that JIP "is where a number of refuge FP commentators are hanging out as they dislike the current FP policy on comments." Allow me to quibble. There is no FP "policy" on comments. There is only arbitrary and capricious fiat under which leftist juveniles are permitted to ban commenters for varying lengths for allegedly "being a jerk."
It is FP policy to ban commenters who have all paid for the privilege mind to the offence of a being a 'jerk' without defining what that actually entails. Their right to have that as a policy as it is their substack. I think it is an odd stance.
Or, put another way. no policy at all. In American jurisprudence, administrative agencies are reversed if their acts or policies are adopted without reason or an evidentiary basis.
Thanks for much for posting the Shrier article as I don't read TFP anymore. Very good explanation of how we got here with gender sickness and hopefully how we will recover our collectives minds.
I thought it might help people. I found it hugely interesting as I wasn't aware of the full background in the US. It has been a delusion of massive proportions. I am currently hoping that some of the social media speculation is wrong about the id of the Blackhawk pilot btw...
Apparently the particular pilot was wrongly identified, but the *actual* identity of the pilot appears, so far, to being being suppressed, which is troubling.
Although it's wrong of me, I have to confess that I was hoping it was true, because that would be the final nail in the coffin of trans, I think. A trans pilot committing murder/suicide because 'she' was pissed about Trump's EO? There would be huge fallout from such a thing. Especially considering that more and more trans violence is coming to light. The person with the Molotov cocktails at the Capitol, it turns out, is trans. As, apparently, was the German national who killed a Border Patrol agent in Vermont.
I see they are not formally identifying the female pilot at this time at the request of the family.
Whether the pilot was trans or not is not really the problem -- more their mental state as the helicopter was not flying along agreed route and indeed much higher agreed.
Mental illness and flying a plane should be a red flag, particularly after that airline pilot flew the plane full of passengers into a mountain in Europe a few years back.
And yes there is trans violence -- Sarah Jane Barker in the UK is a notoriously violent prisoner out on remand who has threatened Gender Critical women. The number of violent offenders in the UK who have identified as trans after arrest is quite substantial. It is basically the fourth cohort of those identifying as trans -- the very young (traditionally boys with a deep abhorrence of being gay), rapid onset around puberty (a new cohort, mainly female no real long term studies), middle aged men (AGP, possibly with children) and those who suddenly discover they are trans in prison (again mainly men)
The German pilot who flew into the mountain came very quickly to my mind as well. In a situation like piloting an aircraft, it is far too easy for someone who is not mentally well to act on impulse in a way that can, within moments, prove disastrous.
I’ve been reading that helicopters were REQUIRED to stay under 200 ft in that area, due to the traffic interaction risks. Being so much higher than that is a problem that will require much explanation.
Abigail Shrier has been a lone voice in the wilderness for a long time. I hope there are even better things in store for her, like being the boss of those who viciously attacked her.
This morning I'm reading that helicopters have become a serious issue in that area, to the point that they have a air traffic controller dedicated to dealing just with the helicopters. BUT, for whatever reason, there was only one controller handling both planes and helicopters at the time of the crash.
So pleased to see you JT as well. I am pleased you enjoyed the articles.
The allocation of money within the ACE is a farce. All this was going on during the time they were hounding Denise Fahmy for her gender critical beliefs (they lost that case).
I feel very sorry for the authors involved in the TGLA farce because they will be back to square one. Hopefully they will get better representation. Good storytelling is actually a very rare talent and does not depend on skin tone or sex but rather a combination of things. Agents should be looking for stories which grip and hold the attention from whatever the source.
I was shocked about the security firm rebrand and then getting the huge grant from ACE.
It looks as if Prince Andrew fell in with a crowd of people back in the day (I'm sure this has been going on for a very long time; consider what is now known about Pres. Kennedy) who all felt entitled by their wealth or position to get up to whatever behavior they wanted to in their private clubs. I've always felt bad for Sarah Ferguson, and these revelations give me even more sympathy for her. And yet she seems to have managed to make the best of it.
The family judge in the Sara Sharif case has now been named -- Allison Raeside who had a year previously been accused of serious failings in her conduct of a case.
The two other judges who were minorly involved have also been named but it was Ms Justice Raeside who made the flawed decision. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01/31/sara-sharif-judge-alison-raeside-named-beinash-batool-urfan/ or https://archive.ph/xEodd
And this is the time line of Sara Sharif's family's dealings with the family courts, in particular Ms Justice Raeside: https://www.thetimes.com/uk/crime/article/sara-sharif-family-court-alison-reaside-judge-t29hdtlp6 or https://archive.ph/T21fX
That poor girl. What a horrific case.
That is about all one can say. So many failures and the general reluctance to remove children played its part.
The judge needs to go to jail for criminal negligence.
OMG. This was crazy. Apparently there is little to no justice in the English criminal justice system. And just a fractional amount of accountability, which I guess naming the judge is kind of. Is she still allowed to judge?
The father murdered four women but always got off because he was able to blame the women for their murders?
What the hell is going on over there?

And because I have just seen this --Keira Bell, the de-transitioner is now spearheading the drive for a judicial review of cross-sex hormones for teenagers in the UK. The campaigners are arguing that in many ways cross-sex hormones are doing more damage. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2025/01/31/children-puberty-blocker-ban-sex-change-hormones-streeting/ or https://archive.ph/6rwed
Thanks for another insightful update, Michelle.

Yes and it is why DEI should be condemned as being illegal. It has been trying to reverse enfranchisement.
I suspect you saw the report about the lawsuit with the FAA. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/us/news/2025/01/31/diversity-hiring-cost-me-job-at-faa-a-crash-was-inevitable/ or https://archive.ph/OSx2Y

Yes, it is a glaring problem which cannot be easily explained away.
And I totally agree with you re mental illness and pilots.
Wow. So Much violence from the mentally ill
Abigail Shrier has been a lone voice in the wilderness for a long time. I hope there are even better things in store for her, like being the boss of those who viciously attacked her.
Got a satisfying laugh at the thought of her being the boss of They/Them. Go Abigail!
Ouch. That " US-style positive discrimination" is painful but, incredibly sadly, a fair punch. God willing, it's now becoming less so.
One can only hope.
I read some social media speculation on the id of the Black Hawk pilot and 3 near misses prior to hitting this plane . The flight path was not normal.
This morning I'm reading that helicopters have become a serious issue in that area, to the point that they have a air traffic controller dedicated to dealing just with the helicopters. BUT, for whatever reason, there was only one controller handling both planes and helicopters at the time of the crash.
They have been a serious issue for a long time.
Hello Northumberland! Good to see such a fine roundup of articles today.
That was an interesting article on Peter Mandelson. It figures Labour would promote such a one to the U.S.
And that on TGLA to. What a literary agency. What a farce. And Sasha Lord too. Arts Council England should be investigated.
That was great news about the FSU's victory over the actuaries. Small step for man...
And all I can say is that it's a crime that Jews are accused of being the new Nazis.
Also wanna say that I hope the revisions will go well, doctor. And Paddy looks cute, as ever.
TY, as always, Michelle. Appreciate it.
So pleased to see you JT as well. I am pleased you enjoyed the articles.

The world is so broken in so many ways. I would feel much better if I could take Paddy’s soft furry ears in both hands and love on them for a bit.
He is a good spaniel.

Michelle, that dog of yours looks vicious.
