Another great issue, Ma'am... Once again, lots-a good links. I'm sorry You didn't get all You guys/gals should-a got outta that meeting yesterday. Hopefully another day.
I'm reading the heartful letters now, and hope that someday these views will be able to be shared out loud. TYTY, Michelle. Hang in there. (And hope writing is going well, of course. :-)
Thank you for enjoying. And my hope is that one day, people can share their opinions out loud.
There were a number which really got me -- the New York Broadway actor and the woman in South Korea. I have had other people contact me since and share how frightened they are. Lately, on twitter, I've been called all sorts of horrible names because I put my name to the resolutions. Some of the signatories are quite upset about it. Luckily, I believe those who indulge in name calling have already lost the argument.
TY for writing. Yeah, those two. The one from South Korea used her name, didn't she?
And You did, too!?? What were Ya thinkin, girlfriend!! (Proud-a You, because that took some guts.)
Yeah, name calling not muchuva argument. But what d'Ya expect from Twitter? (I'm just glad I never got involved with it much.) Still, that's pretty stupid, and just makes a good case for *Your* arguments, right?
Anyhoo... Heading to pharmacy for stop-smoking meds, as I had total collapse/relapse this past week. What can I say? I say: Don't let Twitter effect Your writing, and I'll try not to let Your Twitter-trash effect my smoking. Deal? ;-)
Just got back from trip and short walk. *Very* short walk.
And gotta thank You, kindly, Ma'am. I had previously gone 17 days without smoking, but that wasn't long enough to get me off them for good. Better luck next time?
Dedication, desire, discipline, determination and persistence will get you there. Get back on the wagon after you fall off. You did well and you can do even better. It is a hard thing you are doing.
I know. It makes me v sad. I have had more people email me about this and say how frightened they are. They support in the shadows but will not say anything publicly. It breaks my heart.
She could but it takes a hell of a lot to run one successfully and the many mergers of publishing houses means corporate has much more power than it used to. It is about distribution. I am so pleased that the S&S, Random House merger did not come off.
People are just very frightened and fear is not good.

Twitter is terrible. I deleted my old account but went back on and it’s the same junk. Has to be a better way.

I didn't realise how much guts until my name was out there. Several of the comments have had to be withdrawn.
As M Alison "said," You're to be commended. Given a medal even, if it were up to me.
There are reasons why I do this weekly round up and Alison and you are at the top. Thanks.
I commend you for doing it. It is truly brave. If you need a quote from me for Bari article from someone who is trying to make it, let me know!
It is a Sunday Times article but I know where you are!
You have my stop smoking support, JT. I know how hard it is but you can do it.

TY again, Alison. :-)

When You're right, You're right Michelle. And I hafta admit, one-a the hardest I've attempted.
Please keep us updated on SoA. I read that entire letter this morning and it’s incredible.
Oh I will. I know it is tilting at windmills but someone has to do it. This spiral of silence cannot continue.
It makes me so sad to see how many can’t sign their own name but I completely understand it.

I wish JK would start her own publishing company. She can do it.

It’s not good. I don’t know what the answer is.
Maybe Barrie could do a piece on publishing. I think she’d be interested in that letter.
We will see. We are in contact with other journalists about a number of letters etc. Not all are captured.
