Ah, Michelle! Another Friday, another eye-opener.

I skimmed the NHS consultation doc. The part You quoted on following WPATH guidelines was the best part. "WPATH standards of care do not determine clinical commissioning decision for the NHS." I was gonna say that the NHS is so sound, until I saw the South Tyneside and Sunderland guidelines. I still don't know how Truly Radical Feminists took over and destroyed women's rights.

And I fear the next step librarians will take *will* be book burnings. Isn't that, essentially, what's going on here? It's not surprising that Book 28 was, in part, written by an 'academic Dr Elizabeth Chapman, whose doctoral thesis was on “provision of LGBT-related fiction to children and young people” in public libraries.' No surprise they recommend 'including hosting drag queen story hours and making toilets gender neutral, partly to relieve anxiety for women with “masculine” hairstyles.'

But I really love Toby Young, as I'm sure You do too:

“It seems there are still Witchfinder Generals in the 21st Century, except instead of wearing witchfinder hats and black cloaks they display rainbow lanyards.

“Equity, diversity and inclusion is the Holy Trinity of the new puritans.”

You're so lucky to have the Telegraph and the Daily Mail. I donno if we have anything like them over on this side-a the pond. I don't know of anything, but maybe that's because I've never paid much attention to Fox.

Greenpeace? Pfft. I guess maybe it's just me, but I have a hard time taking them seriously.

That was really interesting about the London Wall. I figure it must be a great strength for the UK to have history going that far back. Or maybe I should recognize that U.S. history does, in essence, go that far back as well in a way.

As always, just wanted to say "Thanks a bunch!" Ma'am.

Toby Young is great. He has been such a stalwart.

Sometimes, this ideology seems to be a many headed hydra and it has become embedded.

One reason it may be so embedded in financial system is Sheldon Mills, the former chairman of Stonewall who was also an executive director of the FCA. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2023/08/03/fca-sheldon-mills-chairman-stonewall-diversity-guidelines/ or https://archive.is/B5fEJ

Thanks, Michelle. Nice catch.

"Stonewall said it does not seek to influence commercial decisions within banks or other organisations and simply provided resources to support members of the LGBTQ+ community in the workplace."

Yeah, that's what Stonewall *says.* But what they're actually *doing* is taking away the support for women, while they're at it.

It is a slight roll your eyes time at Stonewall. They are a political campaigning body. Of course the want to influence. They have been incredibly successful, particularly with using behind the scenes lobbying. It needs to be brought out into the daylight. Discussions need to be had.

Cater cater cater to LGBTQNOP. Jeez, when will this stop? Books by Stock, Rowling, and any other alternate view should be displayed along side those that seem to promote the alphabet mix. When young people are trying to determine their gender or sexual preferences they need to be presented ALL sides. If they are so fragile as to be dissuaded from being ‘alternate’ by seeing something other than promotion then perhaps they are not homosexual or transsexual in the first place.

Springers are awesome personalities-and very head strong.

Springers are fabulous. I had not realised that springers are the breed most likely to have problems with recall. I thought we had it cracked until he became a teen and was like -- no way am I coming back in. Out for 3 1/2 hours the Monday before last. So recall totally gone. It is a new start and seems to be working. I am using a whistle -- but first getting him to understand that four pips on the whistle means 'WOW' premium treats aka cat food in jelly. He seems to understand this concept. It is going to be 'proofing him' for a while.

Stick with it. He’ll get it. A well trained dog is a heart’s delight. I have loved all of my dogs but the present one (a rescue from Tijuana) has had the advantage of my retired lifestyle and therefore way more consistent training. She is awesome.

What I do is check on archive.is and see if the url has been archived or not. Generally they have been and I am able to use that archived url.
