Looked up just in time! And found yet *another* GREAT Northumberland news report, Ma'am.

Weeeel, great except for Conservatives. 14% to Labour's 53%? Phew.

Other stories interesting as well. I can't believe hospital canceled "Emma's" surgery. Wish luck to the Barroness.

Also sorry to "hear" about the other news. The maternity problems and the child-abuse report seems to be forgotten. The "flockdown?" Never heard-a such a thing.

Still... You got it pretty lucky over there, when compared to here in the U.S. I wish I could say that I'm positive that Democracy will withstand the '24 election. But I can't. Ah well...

TYTY again, Michelle. :-)

So pleased you enjoyed it.

I do not know if democracy over here can survive the Tories' plotting at the moment. It is just crazy. There should be a General Election but the Tories will cling on because they do have this huge majority. Although some MPs have threatened to resign the whip and cross the floor to the opposition benches if Johnson is elected.

Flockdown is what they call the order to keep hens and other domestic poultry under cover and penned up, instead of allowing them to be free range. The avian flu is terrible and decimating the wild bird population.

Yeah, I guess Your politics is pretty messed up right now.

And learn something every day. About the flockdowns. Sorry to hear about the wildlife. I didn't know about that at all.

Yes it is -- but it is what comes from plotting for power. Johnson should have called a General Election and put it to the electorate.

The avian flu is awful. The sea bird population has plummeted. They are trying to remove the carcasses from infected colonies but it gets in the soil.

TY. Politics. What can One say?

In the soil?? I guess we've just been lucky here so far.

Lucky and I suspect it has to do with bird migration patterns. Originally started in China due to poor farming practices.

Just saw this. TY again. Ah. China seems to be the originator of a lotta viruses these days. But, yeah, I'd heard about bird flu coming from there in the past. And probably oceans keep a lotta migrations away from us here.

Shows how much I know. Just "heard" that avian flu is decimating the turkey population. (Likely really bad news for Thanksgiving.)
